CALORIE CYCLE YOUR WAY THROUGH THE FESTIVE SEASON FOR THE BEST RESULTS
Let’s dig deep onto what actually is calorie cycling and how can we use this strategy to our advantage when it comes to best managing the festive season.
Calorie cycling is a calorie tracking tool / strategy that we can implement to help us navigate through social occasions. when we look at our calorie intake from a weekly average rather than a daily average. For example - if your daily calorie goal was 1,800, this would mean your weekly average goal would be 12,600 (as 1,800 X 7 = 12,600).
As you can see above, your weekly average intake can still equate to the same even if you split your days into higher/lower calorie days. This is going to help increase flexibility over the silly season as you will be able to save your higher calorie days to when you have events on. Please remember that calorie cycling is NOT to starve yourself one day and then go absolutely crazy overindulging the next day because you had calories ‘saved’. This is is extremely dangerous and will result in a binge & restrict cycle!
